The Raspberry Inn is Located at 1616 John Avenue, in Superior WI. The house became known as the Raspberry Inn in the late 90's when a previous owner began to operate the property as a Bed & Breakfast. The Current Owners, Brandon & Jasmine Ricigliano purchased the house in April of 2017 to save it from Demolition after a string of slow neglect, and becoming condemned.
The house is believed to have been built starting in September of 1901 for New Yorker Henry L DeForest. DeForest was in Superior for a short time for business, before moving back to New York and selling the property to Peter Eimon of Superior. The house was in the newspaper in 1905 listed as the home of Peter Eimon, and family. The house was built with all the "modern luxuries" of its time, it had gas lighting and electricity, 7 Fireplaces, and initially possibly multiple wood stoves. The home boasts 3 stories, a full height basement, and 8 bedrooms. The staircase spirals from the first to the third floor. Large windows can be found through out, and the ambient sounds of Lake Superior can be heard through the open windows.
